The Wuppertal suspension railway was opened on 01 March 1901. It is considered a landmark of the city and has been a listed building since 26 May 1997. The line is around 13.3 kilometres long, has 20 stations and the train can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h. Every year, around 24.8 million people travel on the suspension railway.
