The Wuppertal suspension railway was opened on 01 March 1901. It is considered a landmark of the city and has been a listed building since 26 May 1997. The line is around 13.3 kilometres long, has 20 stations and the train can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h. Every year, around 24.8 million people travel on the suspension railway. However, not only visitors to the city, but also the people of Wuppertal love their suspension railway, as they can get from A to B quickly and without traffic jams.
