Kalkberg

The Kalkberg in Lüneburg, which has been listed since 1932, is classified as a natural singularity of the Lüneburg Basin and thus as a separate natural area with reed areas and marsh zones. That the Kalkberg is a former quarry can nowadays only be recognized by the rugged steep faces of the mountain. More than 180 species of flowering plants have settled on an area of 3.6 hectares, offering visitors a spectacular view every year.
