Speck's Hof is a shopping centre and cultural venue in Leipzig. The beginning of the 20th century marked the time of the great building boom in Leipzig; the Saxon city became an important centre for trade and fairs during this period. Under the direction of the architect Hänsel, the building Speck's Hof was turned into a trade and fair house in three construction phases. The Hansa Haus, completed in 1906, was connected to Specks Hof by a passage. After the last extensions in 1928 and 1929, the largest exhibition space of the time was created with 10,000 m² of exhibition space.
