Built in 1952, today's Stratmanns Theatre initially served as an American cultural institution with a library, cinemas and exhibition space. In the 1960s and 70s, this building was temporarily the seat of the Lord Mayor and Lord City Manager. Since the 1990s, Dr. Stratmann and his Stratmanns Theatre have found a home here. Dr Stratmann himself was on stage here for many years, but the big names of the comedy industry were and also are at home here.
